PermitLookup
Permit and property-records platform: 1.5 billion unique records (374M unique permits), sold as storm-hail lead lists, a metro data feed, and a metered search API, with live Stripe billing.
The largest data asset in the portfolio and the moat under every lead product: permits, property, code violations, mortgages, and business entities in one warehouse, now sellable self-serve.
PermitLookup is a records platform built on a self-hosted PostgreSQL warehouse. At the 2026-08-10 consolidation (when the original T430 node was decommissioned and everything moved to NVMe storage on a Dell R730) the warehouse held 3.96 billion raw rows. A 2026-09 audit (exact counts by two independent implementations, then de-duplication on natural keys) found 1.51 billion unique permit and property records, including 374 million unique permits; the rest were repeated loader copies. It covers permits for all 50 states plus DC and the territories, alongside code violations, property sales, liens and valuations, HMDA mortgages, septic systems, business entities, and healthcare-provider records.
The product surface is a FastAPI service on Railway with three things to buy: Storm Lists (hail-hit lead lists, live across nine QA-passing Texas counties), a Metro Feed subscription, and a metered permit and property search API. Stripe billing went live on 2026-09-22 with automatic Texas sales tax and a customer billing portal; the full signup, subscribe, checkout, webhook, plan change, and cancel loop was verified end to end against production.
